In his Message for Lent 2026, "Listening and Fasting: Lent as a Time of Conversion," Pope Leo XIV calls for a renewal of faith through intentional listening to God, community, and the poor. He urges the faithful to "fast from words" that harm, encouraging a "disarming" of language to foster peace and inner conversion.

The Pope emphasizes that every authentic journey of conversion begins with listening. Making space for the Lord’s voice means learning to recognize also the cry that rises from suffering and injustice.
