On August 28th—the feast day of our patron, Saint Augustine—we experienced a truly moving day. Our entire extended family—the young women in residence, their families, the Sisters, the priests, and our neighbors—gathered to celebrate the Eucharist and thank God for the 40-year journey of our beloved San Augustine Residence.
It was a beautiful moment to look back on that door which opened in 1986 and—thanks to the Lord—has never closed. During this anniversary celebration, we gratefully remembered every Missionary Augustinian Sister who has passed through these halls over the last four decades, leaving her mark and pouring out her heart and soul to educate and care for so many young women from our Prelature of Cafayate, Argentina.
We recall with immense affection the quiet dedication, patience, and warmth with which they cared for each young woman, always teaching them to "educate the mind and the heart."
Today, on this very special anniversary, we want every Sister who left her mark on the corridors of our Residence to know that her efforts were not in vain. Her testimony of love lives on in the generations of young women who now face life with dignity.
To all the Missionary Augustinian Sisters—both those who have gone to meet the Father and those who continue to dedicate their lives to various missions today—we say thank you for being a light, an open door, and a source of hope in our Valley!
